West Bromwich Albion have shortlisted Fulham left-back Joe Bryan after learning that he may be available for transfer this summer.

According to Football Insider, the Baggies are in the market for a left-back and the 26-year-old defender appears to fit the bill.

It is understood that Fulham have lowered their asking price from £7m to £5m to increase the chances of getting a deal done before next season.

The Englishman almost left the club in January after interest from Southampton, Newcastle and Atalanta, but ultimately pledged allegiance to the London side.

Bryan has featured in 41 matches across all competitions for the Cottagers, providing seven assists in the process.

Joe Bryan would be a sensible and affordable signing for Albion, likely competing with Kieran Gibbs for the first team slot; though what this means for Conor Townsend’s future is anyone’s guess.

Since West Brom aren’t going to make any concrete offers for players until they know what league they’re playing in next season, it may be some time before we see anything materialise from this speculation — but it’s certainly one to watch out for.
