Born in England but a Scottish international, James Morrison joined Albion in 2007 for £1.5m on a four-year deal.
Morrison’s first season for WBA was in the second tier but his Premier League debut for Albion was in a 6-0 defeat against Chelsea. He had played in the top flight for Middlesbrough previously but he played a further 244 games in the Premier League for WBA.
His final game at the top was a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal in September 2017, sidelined thereafter due to Achilles problems which kept him out for a majority of the season.
Morrison played for West Brom in the Championship before retiring.
In 2019, he joined the West Bromwich Albion coaching staff as the Under-23s assistant manager.

Chris Brunt, former WBA captain, signed from Sheffield Wednesday in 2007. He sealed Albion’s automatic promotion with a goal against Queens Park Rangers in 2008.
His first Premier League game for West Brom was on the opening day of the 2008/09 season versus Arsenal. Although the Baggies were relegated that season, they were promoted again in 2009/10 and Brunt remained at the club throughout their eight seasons in the top flight.
His final game in the Premier League was the 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, the same season West Brom were relegated. He remained with Albion until the expiration of his contract in 2020.
He is currently a free agent after recently winning promotion to the Premier League with the Baggies, 13 years after joining.
