Turkish champions Başakşehir owe some of their success to the performances of their number 17.
The expansive central midfield playmaker isn’t the box-to-box midfielder Bilić is after, but there is no questioning the skill and talent of the Turkish international.
A quick peruse of his highlight package will be enough to excite any Albion fan, he possesses great quality with his favoured left foot and his composure and trickery on the ball is not dissimilar to current West Brom favourite, Matheus Pereira.
Nine goal involvements in 29 league appearances is a steady return, but Kahveci’s overall performances overshadow his goal contributions.
He tends to operate as a forward-thinking number 8 for Başakşehir, often finding himself in the half-spaces out wide in a similar role that Krovinović has played for Albion in a 4-3-3.
These intelligent and equally stylish performances have caught the attention of several major European clubs, including Sevilla, who according to BeSoccer are ready to stump up the 12 million euros required to secure his services next season.
Kahveci would be a bit of a coup for West Brom despite not necessarily being a big name. With Albion supposedly so keen on many Süper Lig stars, you’d imagine they will have spotted the talented central midfielder even if there has been no reported interest so far.
The 25 year-old has his best years ahead of him, and with the prospect of Premier League football in the West Midlands there may be a very slim chance that West Brom could engineer an unlikely deal for a supremely talented midfielder.
