Another United man who has become a bit of an outcast as of late is Dan James. The 23-year-old has hardly featured for the Red Devils this season, only starting in one of his five appearances — the game in which he scored against Leeds.

It’s not so much his ability that keeps him out of the side; it’s more the wealth of talent at Solskjaer’s disposal that rival James for the winger role.

The Wales international can play on either flank, but is predominantly used as a right-winger. This isn’t a position Albion need to bolster, as such, but having someone with his skill in the side would certainly help lift the overall quality of the squad.

However, West Brom aren’t the only team interested in James; Leeds, Brighton and Burnley are also monitoring the situation, aware that Solskjaer will be open to letting him leave on loan next month if the Norwegian decides he won’t need him for the second half of the season.
