West Brom have today revealed the new home kit for the 2020/21 season and the Baggies will play in a blue and white ‘barcode’ kit — a nod to the style of the 1992/1993 shirt.

The initial response from the fans has been very divided: some are pleased that it has a historical value to it, while others are disgusted by the uneven stripes.

Here are the thoughts of our writers here at WBA Report:

It’s not mind blowing but certainly an upgrade on the past few seasons for me. I think they’ve nailed the modern-retro look they were going for and the sponsor blends in nicely for once.

William Gill

I love the retro look and can’t wait to see it in the big league. It’s different and not the status quo.

Ben Roberts

Ugly at first sight but I’m hoping that it’ll look a lot better in person, with the players wearing it out on the field.

Sunesh Smith

The kit will give Albion a distinct look. A classy kit to pair with classy football next season.

I can’t say I’m that keen on the barcode design. I appreciate the attempt to mix things up and I’m sure it’ll grow on me throughout next season, but I honestly think I prefer this year’s strip.

5/10

Cameron Hall

I quite like the back, it’s got a cool retro vibe. I reckon it could easily grow on me like this year’s kit.
